My oil painting collection is relatively new since I begin to work with this medium around 2023. For years I've worked with watercolours and -at some point- I thought it was time for something new! Not to replace watercolour, but to introduce myself to new challenges and learning new techniques. I've always been drawn to this medium for its classic look and feel, but also the possibility of creating big artworks: that has always been my dream! The bigger the piece, the bigger the statement.
 

I get my inspiration from several sources: I adore the vintage-feeling of artist such as Stubbs & Munnings, but also the more 'loose' touch of (Post) Impressionistic artist, like Van Gogh and Pissaro. So, for me, I'm working towards an art form that is like a mix of realistic yet loose touches to create a true-to-nature yet stylized style, painted with the alla prima technique. Like modern, yet classic. It's still new, but definitely 'the' one I’m going to build furthermore in the near future!
